Your store's Page templates are the pages that make up your storefront.
A template dictates how your homepage, product pages, collection pages, blog pages, cart, and checkout page look and operate when a customer visits your site.
Home Page
Your Home page is made up of sections - content blocks which you can customize and rearrange on the page.
Product Pages
Your Product pages are the lynch pin of your store, displaying all the details of products on your store.
The product page settings include displaying the 'tax included' message, low stock indicator, shipping policy link, product type, and dynamic checkout button.
Within these settings, you can also showcase product media (including video and 3D images), change the variant based on the thumbnail, display product recommendations and recently viewed products, and adjust the image size and cart button position.
Collection Pages
A Collection page is where your products are categorized into a collection, allowing your customers to find what they are looking for easily. The collection page settings include choosing how many products are displayed per row, adding sidebar content, and enabling a collage layout on desktop.
Collections are a group of individual products - a single product can be featured in multiple collections across your site, and therefore multiple versions of this product are not required in your admin.
Collections List
Your Collections list is where each of your collections is displayed in one place - it's a great way to display each of the different categories and themes your store has to offer.
Your settings allow you to either display all of your collections, or select a chosen few to display in content blocks that you can rearrange.
Blogs
Your Blogs page lists and previews the posts within your storefront's blog, latest news, or press releases.
Your blogs are managed within your Shopify admin settings under Online Store > Blog posts.
Blog Posts
A Blog post - also known as an article - is content from one particular post, such as a blog or a news bulletin. This page template is for one specific blog post, rather than a collection of posts within a blog.
Cart
Your Cart - also known as the 'trolley' or 'basket' - is where your customers' products are placed as they shop on your store. This allows them to review the items they intend to purchase, including adjusting the quantity.
You can adjust your cart's settings to set a default country, enable a shipping rate calculator, or adding on order message note field where your customers can provide additional purchase instructions.
Checkout
Your Checkout page template is controlled by Shopify's platform. As a result, there are no sections available for you to edit - however, you can customize the visual elements of the checkout through your theme settings.
404 Pages
A 404 error shows when a page is not found - this can occur when a customer has manually mistyped a URL, or clicked on a link which does not lead anywhere on your site.
Links leading to 404 errors commonly appear when merchants send out links to a products or pages on social media, and then remove or alter their locations at a later date.
